Board the research vessel, the Callinectes, for an unforgettable river adventure. Hear about the Center's work, learn about the surrounding land, and see if you can find all the items! This year the Athletics Department will induct six former athletes into their 2024 Hall of Fame Class. The class consists of Katie Bierzonski '01 (W. Basketball & Volleyball), Brianne Brynelson '02 (Rowing), Tom George '73 (M. Lacrosse), Jessica McAdams '03 (Field Hockey), Megan Morse '09 (Swimming), and Ross Coleman '87 (M. Tennis).

Sunset River Jam

Join the Center for Environment and Society and the Student Events Board for an evening of live music by the waterfront! DC-based singer-songwriter Josee Molavi, along with her band, will set the mood for a fun, family-friendly start to the weekend with the backdrop of the setting sun along the Chester River. Admission is free and open to all current students, their families, and alumni.

Quill & Ink Workshop

Location: C.V. Starr Center for the American Experience

Participants will join living historian Ben Bartgis in a two-hour experiential learning workshop on print culture during the Revolutionary period. Participants will make their own quills, learn how to make historically accurate ink and learn about wax and wafer seals. There may even be some history learned along the way! This class will provide you with tools to empower you to get out on the dance floor. We will cover the basics of two-step, line dance, and waltz,  practice communication through movement, and embrace the rich social dance practices that exist in the United States. I hope to create a space based in musicality, curiosity, and joy. This class is open to all levels, and you need no partner to attend.

Becky Hill and Friends Performance

Time: 7:00 - 8:00 PM
Location: Decker Theater

Enjoy an evening of tap dance, flatfooting, old-time tunes, finger-picking guitar, and more. Driven by curiosity and experimentation, Hill devises a sonic landscape that breaks the boundaries between music and dance. Bodies become instruments and intricate choreographies yield sound in a piece that celebrates the value of community. In this work, dancers and musicians investigate the variations prevalent in Appalachian old-time music to unearth experimentation tethered to tradition. Becky Hill will be joined by Roxy King, Jesse Milnes, and Ben Nelson.
