Research Interests
Russia in the 1920s. My first area of research has been factory labor and Communist party politics from 1923 to 1934, but in recent years I have moved into the study of popular culture, especially pulp literature and films that speak to fears of war, conspiracies, terrifying new weapons (gas, airplanes, death rays, etc.), and spies. In fact, however, I鈥檓 interested in the 1920s just about everywhere in the world.
